PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) is seeking licensed social workers with supervisory experience to join our mission to end homelessness as the Associate Director for our WLA Programs. This position will oversee PATH programs and staff within SPA 5.

WHAT WE DO
Since its foundation in 1984, PATH has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH is the largest provider of homeless services in the state of California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.
PATH’s programming in West Los Angeles (WLA) includes an Interim Housing Facility for Veterans, Outreach and Housing Navigation and Rapid Rehousing. Each program is overseen by a Program Manager and provides a tailored package of supportive services designed to meet the specific needs of the people we serve.
WHAT IS AN ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR?
Under supervision of the Department Director, the Associate Director leads PATH’s WLA programs, providing administrative, clinical and supervisory oversight to a team of staff to ensure successful contract outcomes. In addition to supervisory and management duties, the Associate Director also provides direct client services in accordance with the needs of the programs and in support of direct reports. Responsibilities of the Associate Director include:
WHAT YOU BRING
- Program Management & Oversight
- Ensuring successful implementation, coordination of services, achievement of performance measures and evaluation of services within the programs
- Collaborating with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure program compliance with contracts, partnership agreements, and all other requirements and expectations
- Functioning as the primary point of contact for program matters
- Clinical Oversight
- Providing support to staff regarding clients, training and oversight of programming
- Reviewing client documentation completed by staff to ensure accuracy and quality
- Utilizing knowledge and expertise in providing evidence-based supports to provide guidance and support for program execution and service delivery
- Staff Support & Development
- Planning, scheduling and adjusting as necessary on-going workload assignments
- Conducting weekly meetings with staff to provide regular feedback and support
- Providing regular and appropriate feedback to staff
- Program Outreach
- Educating, networking and representing programs to local agencies, organizations, governments, and communities
- Reports & Contract Compliance
- Reviewing and authorizing all program and contract reports prior to submission
- Reviewing and explaining contract scope and services to staff
- Performing periodic internal audits
- Attending all site-monitoring visits
We’re looking for candidates that:
- Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards
- Demonstrate knowledge of and experienced with case management techniques including critical time intervention, harm reduction strategies, crisis intervention techniques and motivational interviewing
- Have HMIS experience, preferred
- Have experience with program start up, preferred
- Have extensive experience working with program funders
- Have experience analyzing program procedures and practices to identify barriers and impediments to achieving goals and making recommendations for course correction
- Have knowledge of program management, including experience preparing and monitoring budgets
- Display a strong ability to represent the interests of the agency
- Interact and build successful collaborative relationships effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including clients, staff and other stake holders
- Possess a high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals with urgent and multiple case management and health needs
- Work just as well independently as they do on a team
- Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactive
- Are excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verbally
- Have a strong sense of prioritization and can coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environment
For this role the Associate Director must:
- Hold an MSW or ACSW credential; LCSW credential strongly preferred
- Have supervisory experience in homeless services or working with vulnerable populations, demonstrating strong skills in staff supervision, program development and implementation, and development of policies and procedures
- Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
- Have employment eligibility verification
- Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
- Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
- Have reliable transportation and:
- A valid driver’s license
- Auto Insurance
- The ability to qualify for PATH insurance coverage
- Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
- Tuberculosis Test
- Background Screening
- Drug Test
PATH will require all employees to be fully vaccinated
