JR 2284 Regional Human Resources Specialist San Diego, 92101 Salary: Starting at $26.93/hr Full Time Non-Exempt
PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) is seeking qualified human resources professionals to join our team as a Regional HR Specialist for our San Diego region. This position is based out of our San Diego location with regular travel to our headquarters in Los Angeles to provide in-person HR support and participate in meetings and trainings.

WHAT WE DO Since its foundation in 1984, PATH has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.
WHAT IS A REGIONAL HR SPECIALIST? Under the supervision of the HR Director, the Regional HR Specialist works in close collaboration with San Diego leadership to coordinate HR activities and processes for the region. Responsibilities of the Regional HR Specialist include:
Serving as the “front-line” HR generalist to provide technical HR advice in response to regional staff policy inquires, requests, basic employee relations issues, and exit management
Providing day-to-day support to program leadership with established tools, templates, resources, and information
Providing project management, HR analysis, and generalist HR support for the San Diego region
Recommending and/or executing HR interventions to address critical issues in the areas including orientation and on-boarding, training and development, employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
Using a team approach to ensure HR learning and best practices are shared on a consistent and regular basis through regular meetings and trainings
Coordinating regional or HQ-let HR activities in San Diego
Providing analysis and recommendations on HR activities and process effectiveness in the region
Providing support to employees and managers to work through complaints and grievances
Participating in the planning, delivery, and implementation of HR initiatives including HRIS, policies and procedures, monthly and quarterly metrics, compensation and benefits, and other pilots and programs across the region
QUALIFICATIONS We’re looking for candidates that:
Have proven acumen as a HR generalist, including at least 6 yeas of experience in the areas of training and development, HR administration, compensation, policies and procedures, employee relations, performance management, organizational design, and workforce planning
Possess an undergraduate degree in HR, Business, or related field (preferred)
Observe a professional HR philosophy focused on creating solutions that balance compliance with a commitment to customer service and support
Demonstrate comfort delivering on strategic HR initiatives, tactical assignments, HR administration and project management
Emulate a highly collaborative, inclusive, consultative, and resourceful work style
Demonstrate excellent project management and organizational skills
Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS databases
Work just as well independently as they do on a team
Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactive
Are excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verbally
Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills
Have a strong sense of prioritization and can coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environment
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS For this role the Regional HR Specialist must:
Be able and willing to travel 25% - 50% of the time for work duties
Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
Have employment eligibility verification
Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
Have reliable transportation and:
A valid driver’s license
Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
The ability to qualify for PATH insurance coverage
Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
