Salary: Starting at $80,000 DOE
PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) is seeking qualified candidates with PR experience to join our team as the Director of Media and Marketing.

Since its foundation in 1984, PATH has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing. 
The Director of Media and Marketing strategically leads all communications functions, guiding PATH in its mission to end homelessness and driving engagement throughout the state of California. Responsibilities of the Director of Media and Marketing include:
  • Strategy, Vision & Leadership
    • Developing and implementing an organization-wide strategic communications plan to broaden awareness, drive revenue, and strengthen brand identity across key internal and external audiences
    • Identifying challenges and emerging issues faced by the homeless services sector and the organization and collaborating with the board and staff to develop implement communication strategies to support them
  • Brand Management
    • Oversee the continued development and use of the PATH brand
    • Oversee and execute as needed all copy intended for public consumption to ensure alignment with strategic plans
    • Manage coordination of message development intended for donor and funder audiences
    • Oversee and execute all branded communications including, but not limited to, print, branded materials, and electronic communications
    • Curating content and increasing engagement on PATH social media outlets
    • Serving as lead point person for media interactions that help promote or impact the organization and actively cultivate and manage press relations to ensure coverage and promotion of PATH’s programs
  • Team Development & Management
    • Manage assigned staff and PR consultants
    • Collaborating with department, regional and executive leadership to support all media and marketing needs
    • Mentoring and developing staff, interns and volunteers using a supportive and collaborative approach to promote a culture of responsiveness, high performance, and continuous improvement
We’re looking for candidates that:
  • Demonstrate an excellent level of proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and WordPress
  • Have the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Are creative, flexible and innovative
  • Display acute attention to detail, superior organization skills, and dedication to timely follow-through for all tasks and projects
  • Are strong problem solvers and analyzers that effectively manage priorities and workflow
  • Work just as well independently as they do on a team and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively and collaborate with people of a diverse range of backgrounds in a multicultural environment
  • Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactive
  • Are excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verbally
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
  • Execute and maintain confidential information according to HIPAA standards
For this role the Director of Media & Marketing must:
  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and have 5+ years or related experience or have an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Have reliable transportation and:
    • A valid driver’s license
    • Auto Insurance
    • The ability to qualify for PATH insurance coverage
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
    • Tuberculosis Test
    • Background Screening
    • Drug Test
