The Kitchen Aide is the person responsible for setting up for dinner serving and the kitchen cleanup after the day. The Kitchen Aide may be called upon to prepare additional items for the dinner meal, depending upon need. A Kitchen Aide must have the ability to spot problems and resolve them quickly and efficiently, maintain a level head, and delegate kitchen tasks simultaneously. The Kitchen Aide is also charged with maximizing the productivity of the kitchen staff, as well as managing and supervising support staff such as volunteers and residents assigned to the kitchen area for chores.

- Will do kitchen cleanup as Kitchen Aide
- Work in coordinating volunteers and residents to help with kitchen cleanup
- Supervise kitchen volunteers/residents
- Prepare daily lunch for the next working day for those residents that may need a prepared lunch
- Keep inventory on supplies needed
- Be able to work under pressure while keeping a professional demeanor at all times
- Makes sure the kitchen is clean and in compliance with the health department at all times
- Assigns volunteer, community service people, and residents who have been assigned chores in the kitchen area to do relevant tasks following the procedures in place
Every day, volunteer teams come to our facility to assist us in many vital ways. For the Community Kitchen, we have numerous groups come in on a regular basis to assist us with food sorting, food preparation, and food serving. In order to maintain a healthy and vibrant relationship with these groups, they expect to be supported in their endeavors with guidance and leadership. As an employee of PATH Santa Barbara we need each staff person to be an ambassador in order to create a warm and welcoming environment in which our volunteers can successfully do their work. In doing so, you are helping us to maintain a crucial support system for us.
- At least 3+ years of cooking experience in a commercial setting
- ServSafe certification
- Advanced knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, use and maintenance
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to lift heavy items (50+ pounds)

- Current automobile insurance
- Updated tuberculosis test
- Successful completion of background screening
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
- ServSafe certification
The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using alcohol and drugs, and who may not be attentive to basic personal hygiene, health and safety practices. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and lack of personal hygiene. The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis situations and potentially hostile situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting. Sometimes work may become stressful when working under pressure.
