Wage: $14.42/hr- $19.24/hr (DOE)
Under the supervision of the Managing Director, the Real Estate Intern will obtain knowledge of project management and will support the project management team by coordinating and assisting with a full range of real estate development activities related to the financing, construction and lease-up processes of new construction and rehabilitation projects that produce permanent supportive housing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and implement the Bike PATH program at PATH Metro Villas.
- Solicit the expertise of area bicycle advocates (with whom PV is already working) with regard to the design and location of on-site bicycle amenities
- Identify a contractor to provide the bicycle education programs and manage the on-site bike share
- Design a marketing strategy intended to attract residents, employees and community members as appropriate, to participate in programs
- Work with PATH’s Volunteer Coordinator to develop a plan for building a base of volunteers to sustain the program
Create and implement procedures for current residents to provide design feedback to new projects. Implement and provide support to Project Managers for all phases of a project’s development, including:
- Initial feasibility analysis (financial and physical)
- Design development (concept through construction drawings)
- Community outreach/engagement strategy
- Researching entitlements
- Predevelopment and construction draws
- Preparation of funding applications
- Loan closing administration, including coordinating the delivery of due diligence, legal and financial documents
Coordinate with asset management, property management and services team during predevelopment and construction to ensure smooth tenant relations.
Provide administrative support to Project Managers and Real Estate Development team (such as filing, photocopying, etc).
Evaluate reports, decisions and results of the Real Estate Development team and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in operations and efficiency.
Perform other duties, as required. Minimum Experience/Training/Education:
- Enrolled in accredited Master-level Business Administration, Community Development, Real Estate, Property Management, or similar Program.
- Proficient in Excel and word processing software, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and a team-building spirit, an entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem-solving, commitment to the mission of providing affordable homes and supportive services to our state’s most vulnerable populations, well-organized and detail-oriented, excellent analytical skills, and good presentation skills.
